My child is new to Lacrosse what should I expect?
Lacrosse is called “the fastest game on two feet” and is Canada’s national summer sport with a long and rich history. Playing lacrosse will provide your child with great cardiovascular exercise and is an excellent cross training sport for hockey. It’s an excellent balance of hand eye coordination and athletic endurance. Given that lacrosse is a team sport, your child will learn the values of working together to achieve success. Lifelong friendships are part of the game.

Can my child play Spring Hockey and Lacrosse?
This really depends on the commitment required by your spring hockey team. Some players have found minimal overlap while other players have found a direct conflict for the entire season and could not manage both. Like any dual sport athlete there will always be challenges and Lacrosse will be no different with the commitment level required. This may have to be a discussion with the head coach to determine what will be acceptable.
Can my child play Baseball and Lacrosse?
There has not been much success with an athlete playing both these sports simultaneously. They always seem to have similar schedules and the time away from one sport to pursue the other always plays a negative effect on both. Once again though it’s not to say it’s impossible but there will be a commitment level required by the head coach that may not accommodate both.
What happens if there isn’t enough players or coaches?
Saints registration will close March 16th, at that time if there isn’t enough players registered or no coaches have stepped forward, we will refund all participants and if your player would still like to play Lacrosse they can sign up with the South Winnipeg Sidewinders.
